|I'm back.... kinda

I'm going to attempt to update this thing again. I haven't really been writing much as my life has been hectic and in a huge downward spiral. I'm doing ok before anyone gets worried or decides to blow up my cell. Its been a trying year for me and I haven't been handling it the greatest. I've lost dear friends to me, crashed my vehicle, lost my license and ran a fowl of some personal road blocks that I haven't been able to clear. I'll make it though I have always been a survivor. I just wish that I could have been doing this the entire time as it used to help me clear my head and get some perspective on things. It just helps to see them in type and not just bouncing around my head. I've met some interesting people and done some interesting things. I don't think I'll getting around to actually writing stories again for a long while. I wish I had the passion, the drive to get it done. I just haven't been able to think about anything but putting my foot in front of the other for quite some time. I hope that I will correct that soon. |
Totally off subject, but as a service industry employee. I have a few things to say that I hope get spread far and wide. WE DO NOT care about the economy. If you DO NOT have the money to pay for your meal and a 20% tip DO NOT go out to eat. Its cheaper to buy your food and cook it yourself. I'm not saying that every server deserves 20%. I am saying start at 20% and go up or down from there. We have to live off of this money and really most of us can't afford to put away anything past money for living expenses, even before the economy went to crap and now we are definitely cinching up our belts cuz its hard to afford to eat. Also don't go out to eat christmas eve. It is rude beyond all imagining. Seriously we have family too and if people like you decide to go out it gives the companies excuses to stay open and keep us away from them. At my company it is mandatory to work either christmas eve or new years eve. Most people choose New Years and the rest of us who don't work with the scheduling manager often get stuck working christmas eve. Also if you simply must go out on christmas eve. DOUBLE your normal tip. Make it worth it for these poor saps that have to work. I made 70 dollars on christmas eve this year and I had 500 dollars in sales. That was before I had to tip out my busser and my bartender. leaving me with 50 as it was christmas and I over tip then. So I walked with 10% on christmas eve. I even had 2 tables stiff me. Bah fucking Humbug.
